Hello November! I'm finally catching up on some October blog posts I've been meaning to write. So many fun and exciting things happened last month that I wanted to take the time to highlight and talk about!
I also just finished writing a blog post about my trip to Arizona at the beginning of October—which you can click here to read if you'd like!
The first week of October was probably the most exciting; I started my new job as a graphic designer at Comet Creative!!! My boss and coworkers are the nicest people ever, and my boss has the cutest cats and the sweetest Boxer that likes to wander around the studio!
I also got to decorate my desk and the studio for Halloween which just made my first week even more spookier and exciting!
For the longest time, I've always wanted to make cards for the shop but for some reason I just never knew what I wanted to design or how I was going to make them.
I was cleaning out one of my stationery boxes and found a bunch of kraft envelopes I forgot I had. That was when I decided, now was the time to finally make cards and put those envelopes to use! So I made these Pumpkachu cards for fall/Halloween, and I'm so happy with how they turned out. I have so many future card ideas now that I'm super excited about and cannot wait to add to the shop!
Another exciting shop update I had in October were my fall-themed character vinyl stickers! It's been a long-term goal of mine to invest in more vinyl stickers for the shop so I was super happy to release these!
Mid-October, I got to be a vendor at an event called, You Are Here; "a music + arts benefit show dedicated to the Youth today, the Youth to come and the Youth in Us."
This was such an amazing event to be part of, and was definitely a big highlight of October for me because I had such a wonderful time and experience!!!
One of the things I look forward to the most during fall are all of the yummy seasonal drinks—and I think I may have found my new favorite this year.
Scrimshaw Coffee, you deserve the biggest shoutout because your limited "Apple Bottom Jeans" latte is the only latte I ever want to drink now and it makes me so sad that it's a seasonal flavor! It was so delicious!
For the past 5 years, my family and I have been going to Bates Nut Farm every October to celebrate the fall season.
I get a pumpkin every time we go, but this year I got two pumpkins because Minh wanted to try carving one for the first time! He carved the Mimikyu pumpkin in my featured image, and did such an amazing job—I was very proud of him!!!
I also got a scoop of homemade pumpkin ice cream that I get every year because it is the absolute best! Oh, and I brought home a ghost.
This year's trip to the farm was also super exciting because we brought Ramen with us! For those who don't know, she's my older brother's pug! She was the cutest pumpkin of them all. I can't wait for her to visit again! ♡
My favorite thing to do on Halloween is going out to try seasonal desserts and spending time with Minh!
This year we tried Sprinkle's spooky "Double Stuffed Oreo" cupcake and their "Apple Pie" ice cream. They were both really good, but we needed to drink a lot of water afterwards because they were soo sweet.
I also got Minh a cute ghost card and he got me a really cute and funny pugkin-spice card. ♡
My last highlight of October was binge-watching seasons 1 and 2 of "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" on Netflix.
It's been a while since I've had a new show to obsess over. My last obsession was with "The Walking Dead" when I binge-watched all 8 seasons last winter, but we're not going to talk about that... ʕ ° ᴥ ° ʔ
"Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" was so good!!! I absolutely adored Kiernan Shipka as Sabrina, and loved the darker take on the show compared to the original. I could go on and on about how much I loved this show, but I think I'll wait to talk more about it on a separate blog post!
I hope you guys enjoyed this type of blog post! Please feel free to let me know what you guys think, and what kinds of blog posts you'd like to see from me in the near future!
Goodbye, spooky season. Until next time~
